Why I think that tithing is very important to your spiritual life.n Malichi 3 , God says, “ ⁷ Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty.

“But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’

⁸ “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. you are robbing me. 

“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’

“In tithes and offerings. ⁹ You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. ⁰ Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

Notice that God says to test Him this. This is the only time in the Bible that God asks us to test Him. I had fallen away from God for over 40 years. I had made sex and money my gods .When I read this in a book about money, I was shocked. I would not steal from an on e and especially not God.

So, I tested God. I bought a Bible, started going to church, I tithed, I went to Bible studies. Guess what! God keeps his promises. My like changed for the best. Did I have problems. Of course. I had colon cancer. I had open heart surgery. I had a business fail. However, God threw open the floodgates of heaven and poured out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

I be3lieve in tithing. You cannot out giive God.
